Introduction
Colorado-based artist Dylan Gebbia-Richards brings a unique perspective to his transcendent works, where the organic is seamlessly appropriated by the artificial. Drawing inspiration from fractals, or the "expanding symmetry" observed in nature's patterns – from river deltas to the microscopic arrangement of veins within our bodies – Dylan creates monumental organic wax sculptures that pay homage to these captivating patterns. His technicolor palette invites viewers into a synthetic environment that simultaneously delights, disorients, and immerses them in a sensory experience. Dylan envisions his studio as an organic microclimate, where he orchestrates but ultimately relinquishes control over the reactions that produce the intricate patterns in his artworks.
